Booking your newborn session early will ensure I am available for your due date. Most women book their session in the second trimester. I only take a limited number of sessions a month for newborns to ensure a high quality of customer service and beautiful photographs for our clients.
Newborn sessions are our longest sessions. We take great care in safety and comfort for your new baby to ensure we have natural and beautiful photographs. Newborn sessions can take anywhere from 2-4 hours to complete. Newborn photography also produces the most intricate editing of the photographs which is why we allow 1-2 weeks for your heirloom reveal and ordering session.
Newborn sessions take place on Tuesdays or Thursdays and start promptly at 9:15am. It is recommended to be at your appointment by 9:00 am.
- How old should my newborn be? -
Newborn sessions are best done within your baby's first 20 days of life. While the joy and excitement of your new bundle can make the time go quickly, it is important to schedule your session within those days after your birth to ensure we get sleepy, snuggly photographs of your baby. I ask that my clients let me know of your baby's arrival within the first 3 days of your baby's life. Your session will be scheduled between 10 to 20 days old.
- Do I need to bring props to my session? -
There is no need to bring anything but you and your baby! Your session includes use of all of my newborn props and my carefully-curated collection of gowns for moms and girls. If you have any family heirlooms that you would like incorporated in your session, feel free to bring them along!
