"Fini" Flight: An Air Force Tradition
I had the honor of shooting a "Fini" Flight this week. A "Fini" Flight is long time Air Force tradition, celebrating a pilot's last flight in the aircraft, either before the pilot changes station or before the pilot retires. After landing the aircraft for the last time, the family assists in marshaling in their loved one. I love my newborn sessions, but this was a whole new level of emotions that I was able to witness and create incredible memories for.
Emotions were running high as Cpt. Williams exited the C-130J. A multitude of emotions could be seen strewn across the faces of his family and fellow Bluetails. It was a windy, rainy day in Germany but that did not stop his crew-mates from dousing him from head-to-toe with fire extinguishers full of water and champagne. It was a perfect way to wrap up Cpt. William's final flight in the C-130J before his upcoming change of duty station. The williams family will be greatly missed here in Germany, but we are thrilled for the adventures ahead of them.
Thank you Williams family for choosing me to capture this incredible moment in your Air Force career!
