Brody | Milestone Session Sneak Peek | Abilene Texas Photographer

Things have been a little more quiet than usual over the last few weeks. Besides that fact that Abilene is mid-winter so I am in hibernation mode, we (my hubs and I) have been busy getting the studio ready for the new year! We change out curtains, floors, repaint, and I get to change out pieces in the client wardrobe! Lots of fun things come from the first few weeks of a new year, but so much busy work, too! All of the hard work is worth it though, when I get to photograph my first session in the studio after the refresh and it just happens to be the cutest little peanut EVER!

I have been photographing families in an all white studio for quite some time, but every time I lead someone in, I’m always thinking, “Shield your eyes! It’s super bright!” Kids always walk into the studio looking at me like I am insane for allowing them into what looks like an open canvas for crayon drawings. I have a method to my madness though and I wouldn’t have it any other way! Documenting your baby in the most simplest of settings with beautiful natural light allows me to focus on the cutest little details that steal our hearts. We forget the bubbly little toes that grow into messy kid feet. We miss the yummy, gummy, little smile with a hint of a tooth popping through that turn into chompers that have morning breath. We forget the way we held our babies, how their siblings looked at them, how our babies looked at us when we cuddled them. We keep our studio simple and delicate to ensure those memories are kept classic and timeless that you and your family can always look back on and thank God that you had these memories.

Brody came to celebrate turning 6 months new in the studio and he was LUSCIOUS! All the baby rolls and his sweet smile and giggle guts just made my heart swoon. Seriously, Brody was the happiest little guy ever, even towards the end of the session when he was getting tired, he giggled and smiled through it. I love the time I get to spend watching these babies explore new surroundings and document all the fleeting little details of babyhood. His family is just as head-over-heels for Brody as I was. His big sister was so excited to have some time with him snuggling and loving on him and I definitely can’t wait to share more from their part of the session.
