Abilene Texas Photographer | Ohlhausen Engagement Session | Ohlhausen Farm Texas
When I first moved to Abilene, I looked at my adventures back in my home country as a new start on life after Germany. I was ready to become immersed in my community as much as I could. There is nothing better than going to a grocery store and smiling at your store clerk and receiving a smile back. It was something I missed dearly when I moved to overseas. Thankfully, we moved to the sweetest community. What I wasn’t prepared for was being extremely limited to locations, because unlike Germany, everything was behind a fence and private property. So began my hunt for the obscure… and smiling, cheerful people!
I met Cassie Ohlhausen while searching for locations. The Ohlhausen family is the kindest family and I have come to adore their family history and their story. They had a house located outside of Abilene on a cliffside that was exactly what I was looking for to incorporate into my sessions and, after reaching out to them, I learned there was so much more to their family than just this home on a hill. Just around the corner from this house was a legacy. The Ohlhausen Farm was established in 1916 and has been in the family for multiple generations. Over the last couple of years, I have had the honor of getting to know more and more about their family and the history of their farm. They opened their land to me and graciously allowed me to come to their farm and photograph so many of my clients. It has been a dream! Excitingly, I had an even greater honor of getting to celebrate the engagement of Taylor Ohlhausen and his beautiful fiance Cerise and document them continuing on the legacy of the Ohlhausen namesake in Abilene.
I am in awe every single time I visit their farm and get the walk to beautiful grounds of their land. I find something beautiful and unique each time I am there. So many of my clients have had the opportunity to be photographed on the Ohlhausen farm, but none have gotten to see the way I saw it yesterday evening. Taylor and Cerise brought me all around their favorite spots within the Ohlhausen farm and we ended our session in their heirloom bluebonnet field that holds so many precious memories for their family and past generations. I am so excited to share the sneak peeks from their session as we danced and swooned over the beautiful landscapes their family farm holds within it.
Hi, I’m Jaime!
I know beautiful moments. As a fine art cultivator, I capture the heart and soul of a family in a luxurious light and airy setting. I am driven by the connection between mother and child, among siblings, and the ties that bind husband and wife.
